Community Charter
Last Updated: November 7, 2024
Slipstream is a game about working together as a community. We can only win by helping others win. We believe this outlook is true for all of our community interactions as well, not just when fighting alien invaders.
As players of Slipstream, we strive to create a space where everyone wins. To articulate our shared vision, we've crafted this charter. Unlike the rules outlined in Slipstream's Terms of Service and End User License Agreement, this document is governed by the players, and acts as our guide to steer the community's growth in a manner that reflects our collective values.
Our Pledge
We pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.
Our Standards
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment for our community include:
- Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
- Helping all players enjoy our game and community
- Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, experiences, and cultures
- Giving constructive feedback politely and accepting it gracefully
- Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience
- Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for the overall community
Examples of unacceptable behavior include:
- Bullying. Griefing or trolling in excess, or in a way that negatively affects another's experience
- Persistently engaging with another player, outside the normal course of gameplay, in a manner they have already indicated as unwanted. This includes but is not limited to:
- Sexual language or imagery, sexual advances
- Pranking
- Stalking
- Personal or political attacks
- Public or private harassment
- Publishing others' private information without their explicit consent
Scope
This charter applies within all Slipstream community spaces, whether they are "official" (owned and operated by Subpixel Studios, Inc.), or operated externally and intended to represent Slipstream's community.
Repercussions
We acknowledge that actions inconsistent with the Slipstream Community Charter may prompt the community to take measures that seek to limit the offending player's participation. These measures may include, but are not limited to:
- Temporary or permanent loss of access to Slipstream, and any communication platforms that support its players (for example, Discord, Reddit, etc)
- Removal of inappropriate content
- Exclusion from events or other activities, in-game or otherwise
- Any and all consequences outlined in the Terms of Service and End User License Agreement that are not specifically set forth above
